Friday Finds #18: Fantasy

Friday Finds

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your TBR list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). This is hosted by A.D.R.!

And I’m back with another FF! I hope you enjoyed the previous one 😉 Last week was a bit of variety of genres, but these are mostly fantasy books. Lots of pretty covers and much excitement! Get ready, here we go:

Mist & Whispers by CM Lucas is a book I’ve often see Ben talk about. He has published this book and I am ridiculously excited. It’s something about a magic books and a bookshop. To be honest, I was sold after the word ‘books’ 😀 I actually own this book and I hope I’ll be able to find the time to read this one soon!

Now, please don’t shout at me, but no I haven’t read The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater yet… Not so long ago the final book came out and everyone was just gushing about it. So yeah, I need to know what all the hype is about! 😀 I have absolutely no idea what to expect!

The cover of A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess is so colorful and I love it. From what I can read in the blurb it seems that the fantasy aspects will be very detailed and epic. But I’m more excited for the romance!

To be honest, Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin is still on my ‘maybe’ shelf, but I still want to give this a chance. It’s not my usual genre at all, but I have a feeling I might enjoy this book more than I could imagine. I’ve listened to a booktuber talk about this book (I’m not sure which one, sorry), and it just intrigued me so much. The historical aspect has a sci-fy twist and I cannot imagine this to be bad. And yet, I’m hesitant… Have you read this one? Please try to convince me even more in the comments 😀

The Bird and the Sword immediately went to my tbr when I saw it was written by Amy Harmon! The only book I’ve read by her was Making Faces but it was so. freaking. good. Her writing is amazing so I cannot imagine this to be bad! Even if it’s a fantasy novel!

CAN WE PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO ADMIRE THE COVER OF THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR BY KATHARINE McGEE???!!!!!!!! I have no idea what it’s about but I don’t care, I’ll go into this one blind once it’s released! I NEED IT ON MY SHELVES.

Which book will you add to your tbr this week? I hope you’ll fangirl about The Thousandth Floor with me in August when it releases 😀

Friday Finds #17: A variety of genres

It’s been a while that I’ve posted a Friday Finds! 😮 Even ‘a while’ is an understatement… So sorry about this! I’ll try to get back with this weekly post because I love preparing these 🙂 Don’t forget to let me know if the comments which book you’ve added to your own tbr! Now, let’s get started, shall we? 😉

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell is a YA retelling that has been on my tbr for a while now but never shared with you guys! I’m very into retellings lately and what’s better than an Aladdin one? The last one I read based on Aladdin was slightly disappointing, so I’m hoping this one is better.

Next up is a book that’s not in my usual genre at all. I’ve enjoyed a lot of Tyler’s video’s but always been unsure about his book, Binge. My best friend has recently read it and she loved it, so that’s why I decided I should try it out myself too. However, I’m planning to listen to the audiobook!

I’ve also added A Drop in the Night by Stefan Bachmann to my tbr because I really want to start reading more thrillers/mysteries! It seems so dark and exciting! Also, I have a thriller challenge going on for 2016 and so far I’ve read NONE 😦 So I hope this one will get me into the mood for more.

This Is Our Story by Ashley Elston is also a thriller I’m dying to read. It won’t be released before November 2016 though 😦 It’s okay, meanwhile I’ll just stare at the cover because it’s freaking gorgeous!

This is an oldie, but has been mentioned to me way too many times to be ignored any longer. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson is a Peter Pan retelling that seems to be extremely loved in the book community. Especially Margot from EpicReads loves it (and I trust her opinions a lot 😀  If I can get my hands on a copy soon, I’d love to go into this one blind. So curious!!!

The vibes I’m getting after reading the blurb of Crown of Crimson by Rose Reid are VERY positive and exciting! It looks like a Sarah J Maas’ book and I’m so curious to see if this one will live up to my expectations. Also, the cover is beautiful!

Sooo… was I able to intrigue you with at least one book? 😀 If yes, let me know which one in the comments!

Ohhhh yessss, I’m back with a new Friday Finds post! I know it has been a terribly long time ago, so sorry for this! I’ve been trying to add less book to my tbr and it was working for a while now. But these last few days I was like “fuck this” and added a whole bunch 😀 So without further ado, here are the books I added!

We Are The Ants has been released this year in January and I’m just so exited about this book! If you read the blurb on Goodreads, at first you’re like “ooh, this will be so emotional” and then BAM! ALIENS?! Eh, hell yes? If the book is as good as the blurb makes it looks like, then I’m sure I’ll be obsessed.

Cover lussstttt!! Nemesis looks 200% badass and epic. A cover like that just has to contain an awesome written book. I’ve previously read Of Poseidon & Of Triton by Anna Banks and she has a wonderful writing style. Super stoked to get my hands on this one!

I have read the first book, Red Queen, so obviously I’m adding this gorgeous sequel. To be honest? I haven’t heard much good stuff about Glass Sword yet, but I’m going to try to ignore those comments and still give this book a chance.

Alright. To be honest, I’m terrified to read A Monster Calls, but I will do it. I just have to. They are TONS of 5 stars reviews and the blurb of the book tells me basically nothing. It just annoys me so much. I read a sample of this book and I still have absolutely no clue what to expect. So yes, I’m equally terrified and excited to see what this book will bring to me.

The Wrath and the Dawn is one of my latest impulsive buys 😀 I just couldn’t resist any longer. It will also be perfect to read this year for my retelling challenge! Also, the sequel (The Rose and the Dagger) is releasing soon, so I need to be up to date!

This thriller was the big recommendation at my local Waterstones shop. Black-Eyed Susans caught my attention with this pretty yellow cover. I rarely read thrillers so I don’t know why exactly why this one got my attention. It just did and I hope I won’t be disappointed 🙂

Which exiting books have YOU added to your tbr? Let me know in the comments!

For each of these books I’m excited for a specific reason:

The Camelot Shadow is written by Sean who’s one of my Goodreads friends. I don’t interact with him directly, but he’s fun and I like his updates of all those graphic novels. When I found about his book I couldn’t help being curious. Although I rarely read historical fiction, I was hooked after reading “… a lost Arthurian artifact...”. I love anything based on the Legend of Arthur! Hopefully I’ll be able to read it soon!

The Saga series is one of the few Graphic Novels I’ve been seeing everywhere. Especially on bookstagram. I just need to know what this is about! I’m a bit of a GN newbie, so I hope I’ll love this series as much as everyone else. (if I don’t I’ll be so disappointed)

Kingdom Of Ashes is the sequel to A Wicked Thing, which I surprisingly liked a lot! I cannot wait for its release (still 5 months to go…). AWK has a lot of mixed reviews on Goodreads, which is such a shame. I hope that by the sequel is released more people will read it. YOU should for example 😉

Now, Restless Waters had a surprise release just after I finished reading the first book, Left Drowning. I was SO freaking happy because Left Drowning might be one of my top reads (ever!) and I wasn’t ready to let go of the characters yet. My copy arrived a few days ago, so I will probably read it this month.

The Same Deep Water captured my attention thanks to the gorgeous cover ❤ The plot of this book is so mysterious and I’m just so freaking curious. I hope it’s as good as the blurb makes it looks like :p

Last but absolutely not least, I added Oblivion. *takes a deep breath* I NEED MORE OF DAEMON OH MY GOD AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS BOOK IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE RELEASED. DECEMBER, GET THE HELL HERE. *whispers* Please, go read the LUX series asap.

What did you add to your tbr recently? Will you add one I mentioned here above? 😉 Please let me know in the comments!

Friday Finds #14: Blueish covers

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your TBR list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). This is hosted by ShouldBeReading!

The fact that these covers are all blueish is a total coincidence. I kind of like how they look together! 😀 And I really hope the book “Bookishly Ever After” is good because I’m so excited for it!

What did you add to your tbr this week?
